In 2013, a senior women’s gathering was formed to socialize and support one another who found themselves, in some instances, without a spouse, significant other, or physically distanced family members. The group focused their gatherings on afternoon teas. They began calling themselves The High Tea Society. Meetings and conversations eventually began to focus on the needs of less fortunate members of the communities in which they lived. These discussions led to the group determining that they could aid some of those who were less fortunate. In 2016, the group changed its name to reflect its new direction thus becoming The 3Ts Foundation which initially stood for "Teaching Through Teas" and later "Tasting-Talking-Teaching".
A decision was made to treat their social gatherings as fundraising events to benefit those in their communities in need of assistance- monetarily, emotionally, and spiritually. Rather than reinventing a wheel, the group decided that their fundraising events would focus on supporting existing organizations whose missions mirrored their own. To ensure transparency and to follow the legal requirements associated with fundraising organizations, the group incorporated, filed for, and received 501c3 status.
To date, the organization has partnered with Battered Women of Clayton County, Breast Cancer Survivors, Women Helping Women, and The Fulton County Academy for Boys.
Beginning in 2022, our fundraising focused on supporting worthy charities.
